Overview

Heliospectra, the industry’s most proven intelligent LED lighting solution for greenhouse and controlled plant growth environments, is seeking a Sales Associate to support West Coast regional sales operations and management of commercial horticultural projects from start to finish in the United States.  As a Sales Associate, you will play a central role in strengthening and growing Heliospectra’s market position and footprint. You will be responsible for building and managing your sales pipeline of growers and commercial producers and driving sales in your region.

The successful candidate will bring a blend of technical acumen and customer service skills to support execution of projects and contract requirements. The ideal candidate for this role will be a technically competent and collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills who can work autonomously and be self-directed.

Key Responsibilities:

You will work together with your direct supervisor to create business development plans that match the company’s objectives to meet quarterly and annual sales targets. Via the company’s CRM system, you will keep track of all customer records. You need to be willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time, some short notice travel may be required. This role reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager for the Western United States markets.  You will assist and support the Regional Sales Manager in all phases of sales process from pre-planning through project closeout with clients and partners. This includes but is not limited to the following:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with relevant business, technology, or horticulture specialization
  • Minimum 1-2 years of documented successful sales or account management experience for a technology or innovation-driven organization.
  • Candidates with horticultural or agricultural backgrounds encouraged to apply.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products, and online CRM platforms.
  • Willing and able to travel as needed, estimated 30% on scope of year.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support all sales and client needs within assigned territory.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter and self-reliant. Capable of operating effectively with minimum supervision.

You don't need to have these, but you'll be even more prepared for the job if you have:

  • Project management experience
  • Commercial construction experience
  • Commercial controlled environment / horticulture
  • Energy conservation, or renewable energy experience
  • Knowledge of cannabis and food production facilities
  • Ability to read and understand contract drawings and field layouts
  • Bilingually proficient in Spanish or French

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job it is required to: stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Vision abilities required by the job include close vision. While this position is office based, time working outside on project sites should be expected.
